It took a while to get to the "That's New To Me" challenge because I've been not only working so hard on my other entries, but also have been baking cookies, treated to parties with friends and getting ready for some upcoming travel. I originally posted without this entry, but wanted to get it on-air early. That said, here (as of April 1st) is my entry of new-to-me tangles. I used LaMar (my new FAVE border!), Lokomotive and Lachrymose. By the time I finished all the fill-in areas, I thought I might just as well have started with a black tile!
It's a La-Loko-Lachry-Mos-Tive-Mar! |
I really liked working on the Flux challenge, as I did see the recap in the Zentangle Newsletter, and the beautiful works by Maria and Rick are so inspiring. They make it look effortless, but somehow mine never quite reach that kind of elegance. Oh well, that's why they are the "originals"!
Diva Challenge 211 - Flux |
The Square One: Purely Zentangle focus is Squid. Mine looks more octopus like, but it was fun. I added "Sucker" by Lizzie Mayne and a little ever so basic Knightsbridge. This was fun!

Have a beautiful week as we move into our Holy Week and Passover celebrations. Thank you for stopping by and know that I am always honored by your comments.

Oh these are wonderful, Antonine - and they look effortless to me. Your Zendala is so delicious, I am positively drooling! Really gorgeous. Axxx
ReplyDeleteInspiring pieces, Antonine. Your Flux flows beautifully, that "octopus" is imaginative, and the Zendala is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour tiles are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love them.
And I really adore how you used color in your Zendala. Very good work!
Beautiful tiles! Your Zendala is absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tiles!
ReplyDeleteRoot beer jelly beans. Yum. Tiles are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAll great tiles. I tend to do Rick's version most of the time. I have not gotten around to the Zendala Dare #100. I like your color combination and the highlighting. Stunning work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tiles. I think your Flux challenge response is every bit as stunning and beautiful as the work of Rick and Maria. The Zendala is great, I am still dragging my feet on doing them.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You are definitely too kind. I know about that foot-dragging thing! This is about my third year of Tangling, and I'm just now getting into the Zendalas.
DeleteEverything is beautiful! Especially love the Zendala!
ReplyDeleteYour tiles are wonderful Antonine, The first one is a real jewel. great shading, use of color and highlighting on the tan tile. And the same for your zendala, the colors are even more bright on that one. And your octopus squid has lots of movement. Great work!
ReplyDeleteThe flux tile is very beautiful, it has a great composition.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tiles!
ReplyDeleteThe pastels combine so beautifully with your flowing Flux. I love the way it surrounds and softens the center. Your tentacled squid is both charming and clever but, like everyone else, I am in awe of your Zendala - I could just stare at it for hours. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tiles! Especially your Diva tile looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWow, these are all so different and so beautiful. I think you are very accomplished!
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern choices for the New to Me challenge. They worked out well together. Thanks for being part of the challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteI love that challenge. It really helps you grow!
DeleteOh, I love them all!! They are all so different, but each of them very nice. I like most the FLUX Tile, because of the colours, and the Zendala which seems to me like Jewels!
ReplyDelete(Sorry, I don't have enough English words to praise...)
Thank you so much!
DeleteYour work is so lovely! the flux has such delicate coloring and the tones really draw me in...but your Zendala is stunning! I love the shading...did it take quite awhile to do? Thanks for your encouragement and comments..I love the one about the artist wink. I'll have to remember that.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lynell! Yes, the Zendala did take about three days to do. First figuring how to transfer the pattern, then playing around on scratch paper with different pattern combinations, and finally the drawing and shading (shading was the easiest part). It was such satisfaction to finish it. Really meditative to work on once the prep work was over.
DeleteLove your zendala and flux tiles. You keep me going when I don't want to take the time to do that zendala challenge. Someday mine will be as pretty as yours. Putting a "kraft" sketchbook on my wish list... Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you! I always enjoy your work, too! I got a tan and a gray book. I have only done one thing in each, but both look really wonderful. They seem to shimmer! Get some when Blick has a sale!
DeleteI absolutely love your Flux tile. I don't know why you think it's not every bit as beautiful as Maria and Rick's. From the time I first started looking at the Diva's challenges, I was always impressed by your use of shading and your delicate touch. Your zendala is beautifully done too. I haven't really gotten into them much yet, but I love the way yours look.
ReplyDeleteAntonine, your entries are amazing - I LOVE that zendala!! Your Diva is so soft and pretty! Your New to Me L is wild - I love it :) :) Thank you for commenting on Diva :)
