Diva Challenge #217 - Bunzo and Dex, And a New Tangle - "Crestfallen"

This week the Diva challenged us to use Bunzo and Dex together.  I love Bunzo, but Dex?  It's OK when you need a nice grid type fill someplace, but as a feature?  Hmmmm...  So, I, being the literal type that I am, married them and gave them a baby.  It's a BunDexZo.  Sorta like those Ligers - half lion, half tiger.

Moving on... :-)

I have been working on a new tangle that I thought I would share.

I was flipping through a home décor magazine when I spotted the most fantastic wallpaper ever.  It is straight out of Zentangle-land, and would be ever so gorgeous on a black tile.  The pattern is by Kelly Wearstler, and she calls it "Crescent".  Really?  It doesn't look anything like OUR Crescents!  I think it looks like falling water.

I worked on deconstructing it, and here is what I came up with.  I call it CRESTFALLEN.  Hope you like it!

Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and comments with me.

  1. Antonine, I see fun balloons about to take flight! Crestfallen looks fantastic. I really like the way it resembles a mountain.

  3. OMG (as my kids would say)...how creative and well drawn! It's easy to see why they have a bouncing baby BunDexZo as they seem to be engaging in, umm. congugal relations (Can I say that in public?) :-). Your work is always a delight and makes me smile - as does the story that goes with it.
Now I have to go try Crestfallen. Looks like a fun tangle to do.

  6. Antonine, your Bunzo/Dex duotangle reminds me of a landing space capsules from days gone by. Very cool! I love your Crestfallen tangle...the name is perfect. Will have to give it a try...it has a very art deco feel to it.

  7. I also thought of hot air balloons inflating. Aren't you in the southwest. May be you were unknowing influenced by the big balloon gathering out there. Like the new tangle. has some interesting possibilities.

    1. Yes I am in Arizona, but the big balloon festival is next door in New Mexico. My daughter used to live there, and it was really lovely. I'd love to see what you could do with Crestfallen. I know it would be wonderful!

  20. Definitely an awesome hybrid baby. I'm not sure how they got crescent moons out of the wallpaper pattern, but I really like the way you deconstructed it. I can see it becoming one of my "go to" tangles.
